Distributors usually have two approaches to connect, one is the Extranet approach, the other is the Agency approach.

  • AgencyUSB is a specific approach for suppliers to implement in order to integrate with the distributor's backend system. The agency approach means to use a Direct Agency API of the distributor, which has nothing to do with the Extranet. It will accept the original rates and availabilities from suppliers, including hotel id, room type id, rate plan id, etc. And bookings will usually require live check and real-time confirm. AgencyUSB would be able to adapt to distributor Direct Agency API and transmit rates and availabilities.

  • ExtranetUSB is a usual approach for suppliers to implement in order to integrate with the distributor's extranet. Extranet approach means using the Extranet API of the distributor, which provides the same feature of the extranet. It will require the supplier to provide the rates and availabilities based on distributor settings, including hotel id, room type id, rate plan id, etc... And bookings will be based on that without live check. ExtranetUSB would be able to adapt to distributor extranet API and transmit rates and availabilities.
